CALCULATION OF SUPER HEAT
To obtain superheat, it is important to
obtain the pressure inside the evaporator, even if this has to be done on the compressor discharge line. Once this
pressure is obtained, use a pressure temperature chart to convert the pressure
to the corresponding saturation temperature for that refrigerant.
Once this value is known, measure the actual temperature at the evaporator
outlet. Use this measure value and subtract the saturation temperature from it.
The difference will be the superheat.
